Much thanks is owed to the people who have helped me on this journey as a dancer and teacher.
Stefan, who took me to my first class in Paris and put up with me fighting him in an embrace. To all my teachers, active and passive. To Olga, Aurora and Graciela who taught me that a women’s role is anything but passive, and especially my first teacher Edgardo Manera, for opening the box. Mil gracias .
To Tina & James, who pushed me to share my ideas. To Cookie, who keeps pushing.
To those friends who came to my first class, two days after the London bombings in 2005, when I questioned whether anyone would be interested in what I was doing after what had happened. These friends made the journey into an unusually quiet Covent Garden to tell me yes, it was more important than ever.
To people who are curious and choose me.
To Pineapple Dance Studios who have been so supportive and loving – Luke, Giles and all the smily team on reception. You have been there since the beginning and I am so lucky to have found you.
To the Italian tango community, for just being semplicemente fantastico 🙂
Clearly I wouldn’t be able to write a note like this without mentioning my family. Thank you for everything, I am truly grateful.
