Tangox2, x for everyone.

Miguel Angel Zotto is coming to London with another Tango show Buenos Aires Tango. As much as I love a show, I get a little tired of watching the same formula over and over again. There’s no denying that he is a great Ambassador of Tango and many have been inspired to dance having seen him perform, if you haven’t seen Tango Por Dos go see it. However even though there’s no denying the fabulous talent and beauty of the dancers, it would be wonderful to see something a little different from him and perhaps a little less flesh from the girls.

I’m sure we’ll see him dancing in the London milongas, but spare a moment for this. Whenever I have seen Miguel dancing in a social environment, be it Buenos Aires or London, he has always danced simply and beautifully, which was simply beautiful. You won’t catch him doing super crazy show stuff in the salon. Well I haven’t so far.

My point is this, if stars like Miguel are able to restrain themselves to respect the flow of the dance floor and still give their partner a wonderful dance, then shouldn’t all dancers aspire to this? I can imagine the headlines now. “Tango Star Injured by Rogue Boleo”. What would we do to repair that damage? And on top of that how would we explain a boleo to the layman?
